Join me for an intensively fun,
completely hands-on and wildly educational
7 Day Straw Bale Workshop!

Hands-on learning is perhaps the best way to learn any new skill, especially when it comes to building. Taking nothing away from our DVD productions, there really is nothing quite like a seven day comprehensive workshop if you’re serious about building with straw bales. You’ll find that in just seven days, you’ll learn what you need to know to build your own project. In each workshop, we will bale a real home…no mock or demo walls in these workshops!
“These 7 day workshops are engaging, relaxed, fun, educational, and empowering. Andrew is passionate about teaching what he has learned through years of building straw bale homes and his enthusiasm is evident and contagious. The connections and friendships that people make during their week together are solid and long term.” -Gabriella S.
“Andrew, I wanted to thank you for one of the best weeks I’ve ever had in my entire life!” -Federico F., Buenos Aires, Argentina
“This was a life changing experience” -Dana P., Tennessee
What I cover in each week long class:
Each class location is different, so the house designs are always new. Whether we’re working on a round structure, a two story home, an exposed round-pole or timber frame barn, or any other structure, I do my best to ensure that the class topics are always covered and experienced.

More than just a hands-on workshop!
The evenings are a blast too as people often bring musical instruments with them. I love to play along and have a travel guitar for just that reason. Whether you play, sing, or just hang out, you’ll find that the time to connect between raising bales is just as amazing as the learning. I’ve had people tell me it was the best week of their life. I can’t imagine a better compliment than that.
You can learn a lot more about my workshops and check out the current dates and locations at www.StrawBaleWorkshops.com. You can even register to win a free workshop there too! There are a couple great videos and slide shows on the site as well that hopefully help you get a feel for the experience. I hope to see you at a workshop sometime soon!
Cost:
Cost for each 7 Day Workshop which includes 3 full and hearty meals (often organic) as well as snacks per day (you won’t be hungry!), a camping spot, use of bathroom and shower facilities, as well as a free set of our DVDs shipped to you upon receipt of your $200 deposit (non-refundable) is $800 in total. So, $200 to secure your spot and remaining $600 to be paid 5 weeks before start of workshop. See below for our list of available workshops for 2011. These workshops often sell out so early registration is of course recommended.
